About Judge Taylor

Judge Timothy B. Taylor earned his B.A., cum laude, from the University of Southern California in 1981. He received his J.D., magna cum laude, from Georgetown University, in 1984.

Judge Taylor has been married to Hon. Laura S. Taylor, a Senior United States Bankruptcy Judge, since 1987. They have two adult sons.

Judge Taylor served several times on the Board of Governors of the San Diego ABTL, and is now a member of the Judicial Advisory Board. He is a Senior Master of the Welsh Inn of Court.

Judge Taylor has presided over more than 160 civil jury trials to verdict, and hundreds more bench trials. He has been affirmed by reviewing courts more than 150 times. In 2018, he completed intensive mediation training at the Straus Institute at Pepperdine Law School.

When not hearing cases, Judge Taylor enjoys fly fishing, playing guitar, and reading.
